William J. ‘Bill' McCalpin is the General Manager of Xplor International. Xplor International is the worldwide association of the users and suppliers of the products and services that create, modify, and delivery customized information using a variety of document technologies. The General Manager position is the senior executive position at Xplor headquarters, and he oversees a staff of a dozen or so full time employees and contractors.
Prior to coming to Xplor, Bill held a variety of positions at the software companies Xenos (including Vice President of Product Marketing) and Image Sciences (now Docucorp). He has also been one of two principals at MHE, a consulting firm in Texas specializing in print2image2Internet issues.
Bill was the first person in the world to hold the EDP from Xplor, the MIT and LIT from AIIM, and the CDIA from CompTIA and remained so for about 4 years – but other professionals in the industry are catching up!
Over the years, Bill has written and spoken dozens of times about issues in the electronic document industry and continues to do so as General Manager of Xplor. In the last year alone, Bill has traveled about 50,000 miles to speak at Xplor events in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and South America.
